Deep Dish Sausage Kale Pizza

Thin crust, schmin crust. We are here for the messy, cheesy glory of the deep dish pizza. If you need more convincing, take as Exhibit A these luscious layers of melty vegan mozzarella, marinara sauce, Tofurky Italian sausage, and shredded kale (you know, for fiber). One bite and you’ll come to love and cherish the deep dish pie as much as we do.

Makes 4 Servings

what you’ll need:

1 pound prepared pizza dough

8oz vegan mozzarella cheese, broken into chunks

1 cup prepared marinara sauce

2 Tofurky Italian Sausages, sliced

1 packed cup shredded kale

how to make:

1. Preheat oven to 450℉. Lightly oil a 10” cast-iron skillet.

2. Press dough into skillet so it comes part way up the sides. Scatter half the mozzarella over the dough. Top with marinara, sausage, and kale. Scatter remaining mozzarella over top.

3. Bake until well browned and bubbling, 25-30 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
