Grilled Sausages with Peppers & Onions

Nothing says summer like lighting up the grill and cracking open a cold bevvie with friends – and this recipe celebrates it all! Our scrumptious, sizzling plant-based sausages share the grill with a skillet of smoky peppers and onions before being tucked into a toasty roll that’s slathered with mustard. Makes 4 servings

what you’ll need:

1 package Tofurky Italian Sausages

1 tablespoon preferred vegetable oil

1 sweet yellow onion, sliced

1 red bell pepper, cut into strips

1 green bell pepper, cut into strips

1 teaspoon sea salt

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

1 (12oz) can of beer

4 large hot dog or sausage buns

¼ cup whole grain mustard

how to make:

1. Start the grill and preheat a 12” cast iron skillet directly on the grates.

2. Once grill is hot, move skillet to one side and add sausages directly onto the grates.

3. Add oil to preheated skillet to warm, then add onion, peppers, salt and pepper to cook

until softened, about 5-10 minutes.

4. Transfer grilled sausages into the skillet with peppers, then pour in beer. Allow to

simmer until liquid has reduced, about 10-15 minutes.

5. While sausages are simmering, toast your buns on the other side of the grill. Then

evenly divide peppers and onions between buns and add mustard to taste.
