Marinated Tempeh Strips

Meet tofu’s weird-but-cool cousin, tempeh. Made from fermented whole soybeans, it’s been around since the 12th century. We call ours Treehouse Tempeh in honor of our fearless founder, who lived in a treehouse during his early tempeh-making days. Tempeh gets along great with a tasty marinade, like this rich Coconut Curry sauce.

HOW TO MAKE: Stovetop: Heat 1 to 2 Tbsp oil in pan (cast iron is best). Add tempeh strips to hot oil and cook 1½ to 2 minutes each side until nicely browned. Delicious in Thai curries and stir-fries.

INGREDIENTS: Organic soybeans, coconut cream (fresh coconut extract, water, non-GMO stabilizer [guar gum, xanthan gum, carrageenan]), water, organic evaporated cane juice, sea salt, garlic, curry spices, expeller pressed non-GMO canola oil, organic apple cider vinegar, natural lemon oil, tumeric, chili pepper, starter culture (rhizopus oligosporous).
