Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor position is responsible for supervising production technicians in their specific area of production. This position is responsible for leading their team to hit specified performance indicators and leading their team to improve on a daily basis. This position is responsible for assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, recommending improvements on the line, equipment and operating procedures.

We currently have an opening for a full-time Production Supervisor. You’ll report to our Production Manager. We’d expect you to thrive in a dynamic environment, where hard work and having fun are encouraged.

What you’ll do:

The Production Supervisor position is responsible for supervising production technicians in their specific area of production. This position is responsible for leading their team to hit specified performance indicators and leading their team to improve on a daily basis. This position is responsible for assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, recommending improvements on the line, equipment and operating procedures. Additionally, this position has a key role of transforming company goals to actionable results on the production floor.

• Understands and follows all Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring product specifications are achieved in a safe and efficient manner.
• Train and lead personnel for optimum line efficiency while maintaining established quality standards.
• Lead daily team meetings to ensure safety, quality and performance.
• Monitor employee work habits for adherence to company policies, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
• Determine work schedules and assigns personnel in a fair and consistent manner. Approve timekeeping records and track absenteeism.
• Quickly responds to interruptions on the production line and works closely with Maintenance to mitigate any down time.
• Ensure all inventory levels and locations are recorded and maintained accurately.
• Ensure that all finished product specifications are met and date codes are accurate with an attention to lean manufacturing.
• Monitor weights, temps and critical control points in accordance to HACCP and SQF guidelines.

What skills and education you’ll need:

• Possess a high school diploma or GED
• 2-5 years’ experience in a production environment
• A base knowledge and comfort level with computers and inventory management software systems is preferred

HR Staffing Coordinator

This position will be responsible for organizing and scheduling workers to ensure that their organization is fully staffed on each work shift. This full-time position will work closely with both management and staff to ensure mutual staffing needs are met, as well as, helping to make Tofurky productive and meaningful.

This position will be responsible for organizing and scheduling workers to ensure that their organization is fully staffed on each work shift. This full-time position will work closely with both management and staff to ensure mutual staffing needs are met, as well as, helping to make Tofurky productive and meaningful.

The successful candidate will report to our Human Resources Manager.  We’d expect you to thrive in a dynamic environment, where hard work and having fun are encouraged.

What you’ll do:

  • Scheduling; implement, adjust, and maintain staff schedules
  • Communicate schedule changes to staff
  • Work with management to administer time off requests
  • Work closely with other members of the human resources department and staffing agency to determine which positions need to be filled so the organization’s staffing requirements are met
  • Audit Time Cards; verify all company policies are being followed including administration of the attendance policy
  • Monitor overtime and report worker’s hours to payroll
  • Provide clerical support
  • Develop staff and promote a supportive team environment

What skills and education you’ll need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bi-Lingual in Spanish preferred
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Word and Excel

Customer Service & Sales Support

Come work with Tofurky as a Customer Service & Sales Support specialist! This full-time position acts as a communication hub, connecting our customers with nearly every department within Tofurky. Energetic, detail-oriented applicants will report to our Director of Marketing and work in a small team to perform these functions.

Customer Service Duties:

  • Receive, host and triage visitors at Tofurky facilities.
  • Accept and process all customer service calls, email and social media inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Manage a “commonly asked questions” library in Tofurky CRM tool.
  • Create and triage claims tickets, closing out all inquiries with detailed notes.
  • Communicate with R&D + Q&A teams to track customer questions through reporting process.
  • Packaging/shipping orders from the Tofurky online store.
  • Manage US and International samples library at HQ building.
  • As time allows; help with website edits and social media content development.

 

Sales support Duties:

  • Occasional participation at in-store demos and promotional events.
  • Assist Event Manager with gathering/shipping items for trade show and consumer events.
  • Manage inventory and keep stock for marketing collateral (including product for sales samples.)
  • Take regional sales manager orders for sample deliveries, shipping collateral daily.
  • Assist with ordering and re-ordering sales + marketing materials when inventories are low.
  • Deliver Tofurky product to local Hood River businesses who participate in our “Locavore” Program.

 

What Skills/Education You’ll Need:

  • Self-motivated, extremely detail oriented.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent software skills (MS programs, Basecamp, ZenDesk/CRM.)
  • High-school or GED Equivalent. 1+ Years working in customer service role.

Maintenance Technicians

In this role you will join a team of technicians responsible for equipment repair, updates and preventative maintenance in our manufacturing environment. This is a full-time position, reporting to our Maintenance Manager.

In this role you will join a team of technicians responsible for equipment repair, updates and preventative maintenance in our manufacturing environment. What you’ll do:

  • Preventative maintenance, maintenance repairs and troubleshooting of plant equipment within the areas of mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and control circuitry.
  • Interact with Vendors/Contractors during equipment installs and troubleshooting.
  • Use tools such as basic hand tools, machine shop equipment, precision measuring instruments, Volt/Ohm meters, amp meters, cutting and welding equipment in a safe and effective manner.
  • Complete assigned work orders and PM tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work with members of the maintenance department to keep equipment and facility running smoothly and safely.
  • Identify equipment improvement opportunities to increase operation effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Operate all production equipment to perform functional operating checks and ensure work was performed as required.
  • Must be able to work independently and in multi-department teams.
  • Present an open and friendly attitude toward all employees.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities.
  • Safety first mindset.

What skills and education you’ll need:

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years maintenance experience required.
  • Possess basic computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft office and computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical prints.
  • Experience working with packaging, thermoform, and food processing equipment and its support equipment such as dryers, loaders, conveying systems and facilities is preferred.
  • Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), variable frequency drives and instrumentation is preferred.
